Growing up in a small, Midwest town, Drew spent a lot of time in nature and, of course, climbing trees. He also performed on stage (he was loud), attempted some sports (disastrous), and read books (by looking at the pictures).
However, he did see firsthand how civic projects like a community theater, baseball diamond, and library could have a lasting impact on a person’s life. As his father often remarked, “Nothing happens until someone makes it happen.”
Years later in Boulder, Colorado, he noticed there was a need for basic textbooks on the human sciences. Taking his Dad’s advice, he started his own publishing company (booksofdiscovery.com) and wrote some best-selling books on anatomy, palpation, and kinesiology.
Red Cedar Climbing is just the latest step of Drew’s journey to establish long-lasting and influential spaces for people in his community.
